Hello. This is my first post so please bear with me.
Your records show that my grandfather's brother Henry Franth Freeman born Didcot, Berks. Service no. 044608, Battalion: 8 was killed in action in France. It also gives a grave no. MR0018. Could anybody give me an indication where that is located? Your site also gives a private Williams with the same grave number. Does this mean it was a mass grave because he is recorded as dying on the 12th June 1918, 13 days afterwards?
I have also found out that my great-uncle's name appears (via CWGC) on the Soissons Memoral saying he died on the 30th May 1918, the date corresponds with the 3rd Battle of Aisne 27th May-3rd June 1918 but I can't find any record of the Gloucestershire Regiment taking part and Private Williams also died after the battle? It also says age unknown for Henry F Freeman but he was born in 1899 and is on the 1911 census living in St. Austell, Cornwall as a 12 year old school boy so he must have been about 18.
Would he have both a grave (as your records indiacate)and be on a memorial? Please could you enlighten me any further on the subject. Many thanks G
