Hello! My name is Neil Robinson. I am the youngest of my late father, Sgt. Stanley Robinson, who was also called by friends, "Ben".

I am trying to find out if there is anyone out there, who may know Sgt. Stanley Robinson, who served in the Korean War. I understand from some resources and my father himself, that he was captured by the Chinese Communists while serving with A Company (please correct me if I am wrong) at Imjin River around 25th April 1951. His name was mentioned in a book called 'The Imjin Rolls'.

His name was also mentioned in Farrar-Hockley's book titled "The Edge of The Sword". Please can anyone tell me what my father was really like during that war? I can understand if you do not want to talk about your experiences, but I would be most grateful if you could help me with the above query.

Look forward to hearing your reply soon. Thank you.

Regards
Neil

I sugest you visit the web site here:

http://www.glosters.org.uk/

and open a research ticket for a proper answer. If they cannot give you more information then you have already, they will refund you.

Another option would be to post a query to the Regimental Associaion site here:

http://www.rgbw-association.org.uk/

as an Association member might well have known him.

Good luck with your quest.

Dear Neil Robinson...

I am researching my family history. I may not even have the correct Stanley Robinson... but I might! It's worth a chance.
The man I am researching was married to a lady named Ivy in about 1953. He had a son named Robert. Stanley and Ivy were divorced later. He served in the war... was awarded for bravery by the King (so the family says). His wife Ivy was born in Wales. He was a scholar and wrote a book about his experiences in the war. Does this match anything you may have please. This is a long shot I realize... but thought I'd give it a try!

All the best...

Debra
